Case Study: Marketing for BOMA International

Marketing the Building Owners and Managers Association International’s annual conference and exhibition is a complex, constantly evolving task. For several years, CK has taken the lead in creating and implementing strategic marketing plans…including concept development, direct mail, database marketing, advertising, e-marketing, trade agreements, public relations and more…utilizing innovative ideas, tactics and technologies maximize the success of the campaign and the event.


Direct Mail: Mini Brochure
2009 Campaign

This four-panel postcard, timed to help people set their budgets at the beginning of the year, features the speakers and program benefits most likely to motivate prospects to attend. The call-to-action encourages prospects to visit the conference website for program details and/or to register.

E-Marketing: Newsletter
2009 Campaign

CK created a comprehensive e-mail marketing campaign to promote the 2009 BOMA Conference. Blasts included deadline reminders, keynote announcements, program highlights and revenue-generating sponsor positions.

Several versions of each blast were also created in order to segment the market and target specific goals within in each audience. Most importantly, the blasts served as a portal to the BOMA conference website.

This postcard was designed to introduce the 2009 BOMA campaign and build excitement and buzz about the 2009 BOMA Conference. A special offer encouraged prospects to register.

6" x 11" format qualified for letter-rate postage, saving thousands of dollars.

E-marketing: web tile
2008 Campaign


CK designed a series of web tiles to promote the 2008 BOMA International Conference. This 125x125 web tile was designed not only to promote BOMA’s conference and exhibition, but to drive traffic from important industry portals. Often, CK will design web tiles with animation.

2008 Campaign

Several multi-page spreads were conceptualized, researched, written, designed and produced throughout the campaign.

Example: May issue of Buildings magazine—4-page spread with four interviews with commercial real estate professionals on the benefits of attending The Office Building Show.

E-marketing: Flash
2007 Campaign


This Flash presentation was designed not only to promote BOMA’s conference and exhibition, but also to inject a little fun and humor worthy of sharing with friends and colleagues. It proved to be quite successful!

Advertising: Print
2007 Campaign

A series of humorous ads were designed to stand out in an ad-laden industry publication. The 100 reasons also tied in with BOMA's centennial celebration.




Logo Design

CK worked closely with BOMA staff to create a logo for BOMA's 7 Point Challenge. Presentation included multiple logos and variations. This was the winning design.

BEEP Program

CK worked on several projects with BOMA's Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP) Program.

Example: This 8.5" x 11", double-sided flyer is easy to print quickly and forward in an e-mail.

Partnership Program Package

The BOMA Partnership Program Brochure Package included a folder—six-panel with unglued pocket in center panel, die-cuts on cover and pocket flap—and sets of stepped inserts.

Website copy was also created along with page design, programming and layout.
